Material description
The material 2.4617 is a nickel-molybdenum alloy with a low carbon and silicon content. This ensures good corrosion properties – even when welded.
2.4617 (Alloy B2) exhibits excellent resistance to stress corrosion cracking, pitting and knife-edge corrosion. The alloy is also highly resistant to corrosion in reducing media such as hydrochloric acid – even at high temperatures.
AN OVERVIEW OF THE PROPERTIES OF 2.4617:
- Excellent resistance to stress corrosion cracking
- Resistant to pitting
- Resistant to blade line corrosion
- Corrosion-resistant in reducing media (e.g. hydrochloric acid)
- Can be used in oxidising gases (up to approx. 530 °C)
Applications
- Chemical industry
- Production of acetic acid
