Material description
Material 1.4876 is an austenitic iron-nickel-chromium alloy available in several variants (1.4876H + 1.4876HT).
The nickel content of 1.4876 (Alloy 800) is above 30%, which reduces the tendency to form sigma phases. In addition, the alloy has good long-term mechanical properties and is resistant to oxidation and nitridation. The material has a good resistance to nitric acid and organic acids but only restricted resistance to sulphuric and hydrochloric acid. It also has a good resistance to reducing salt solutions.
An overview of the properties of 1.4876:
- Good long-term mechanical properties
- Good resistance to oxidation
- Good resistance to reducing salt solutions, nitric acid and organic acids
- Good resistance to oxidising, reducing and nitriding conditions
Applications
- Chemical and petrochemical industry
- Furnace construction
- Power plant industry
- Hydrogen industry
