Material description
Material 2.4602 is a nickel-chromium-molybdenum alloy. This alloy boasts good resistance to pitting, crevice corrosion and stress corrosion cracking. In addition, 2.4602 (Alloy C22) offers excellent resistance to oxidising aqueous media (e.g. moist chlorine gas and mixtures with nitric acid or oxidising acids and chloride ions) and to reducing aqueous media.
An overview of the properties of 2.4602:
- Good resistance to pitting, crevice corrosion and stress corrosion cracking
- Excellent resistance to oxidising and reducing media
- Good resistance to aqueous oxidising and reducing media
Applications
- Chemical industry (e.g. production of phosphoric acid)
- Environmental protection and recycling plants
- Offshore technology
- Chlorination and sulphation systems
