Alloy 600 L
2.4817

HomeMaterials2.4817

MATERIAL DESCRIPTION

The material 2.4817 is a nickel-chromium-iron alloy with a very limited carbon content. It is the LC variant of the material 2.4816.

The more limited carbon content favours a higher resistance to alkaline solutions contaminated with sulphur and offers a slightly higher temperature resistance.

It should also be noted that the mechanical properties are lower than those of the non-LC variant 2.4816.

AN OVERVIEW OF THE PROPERTIES OF 2.4817:

  • Good oxidation resistance
  • Good resistance to carburisation and nitriding
  • Good resistance to stress corrosion cracking (room and elevated temperatures)
  • Good resistance to dry chlorine and hydrogen chloride (up to approx. 500-550 °C)
  • Good resistance to acetic, hydrofluoric and fatty acids as well as caustic soda
  • Resistance in alkaline solutions contaminated with sulphur

APPLICATIONS

  • Industrial furnace construction
  • Chemical engineering
  • Production of hydrocarbons (chlorinated and fluorinated)
  • Production of caustic alkalis (with sulphur compounds)
